MS-DOS MS-DOS is the PC's DOS, rather like AmigaDOS but far less powerful. MS-DOS runs separately from Windows, at a lower "level", and controls all of the file operations made by the computer. It does not integrate with Windows, and does not multitask at all. MS-DOS is a disk based system, which slows it down considerably.
